Planning your adventure in Aconcagua Provincial Park?
Here’s a summary of what you need to know about the available permits, costs, and essential details to make the most of your journey to the summit.

Types of Trekking and Climbing Permits
There are four types of Aconcagua permits:
One-Day Trekking Permit
Three-Day Trekking Permit
One-Week Trekking Permit
Summit Climbing Permit (up to 20 days)
Each permit type varies in cost based on the duration, time of the summer season, and the applicant’s nationality (with discounts for Argentinian nationals for example)
Options on Aconcagua Climbing Permits
For the ascent permit, you have two options:
Independent Climbing Permit: You pay this permit when you’re not hiring any services inside the Aconcagua Park. However, you’ll need to hire at least restroom services at base or intermediate camps (Confluencia, Pampa de Leñas, or Casa de Piedra). This is a more expensive fee; so we definitely recommend hiring our services inside the park.
Assisted Climbing Permit: If you hire services from a local agency, like ours, from guided expeditions to mules services, you receive a discounted fee. We handle all the paperwork prior to your arrival so once you get to Mendoza, you have everything ready to go to the mountains.
Aconcagua Permit Costs and Payment Details
Currency: Permits are priced in US dollars.
Seasonal Prices: Prices vary each season. For example, in January 2024, the ascent fee for the Normal Horcones route was:
U$800 (with local company services)
U$1,300 (without local company services)
